Taught by Child Care Resource & Referral and JJC’s Entrepreneur & Business Center, potential entrepreneurs will learn about the free support that is available to you.
CCR&R will cover licensure, child to teacher ratios, home design, program design, continued training, and how your clients can access the State child care subsidy program.
JJC’s EBC will cover how to start a small business, marketing, accounting, access to capital, billing & collecting payments, budgeting, insurance, and more.
The exciting part about this type of small business is that you can design it to fit your schedule as well as the schedules of your clients! Not all child care programs have to be Monday through Friday from 6 am to 6 pm. Workers with young children across Grundy County have all sorts of schedules, and you can cater to them: 2nd and 3rd shifts, evenings and weekends, school breaks, only school days, only before- or after-school, children with special needs – or even a preschool program with the right credentials!
After this workshop, you will be able to make individual appointments to meet with the trainers to move your business along.
