Keep Grundy Growing LLC is a separate corporation under the umbrella of the Community Foundation of Grundy County that was created to hold and maintain gifts of farmland so that those assets are separate from our stock assets.
First, have conversations with your family and professional advisors (attorney, accountant, wealth manager) to assure everyone understands this charitable action. Once this gift is completed, no family nor tenant has claim to the land.
Second, please complete this Checklist for Gifts of Real Estate and make an appointment to meet with us. If both sides agree to proceed, between us we will complete the items on the checklist and complete the gift.
Third, please complete this New Fund Questions to decide how your Fund is to be used. Will you designate it for a specific charity or community? Will you use it as a Donor Advised Fund and make grants as you go along? Will you set up a committee to tackle an issue that you believe needs solving?
As you ponder, please daydream about the name of the Fund, the message it achieves, and the legacy you and your family will create...for always.
Yes. When you deliver the grain to the elevator, please list the owner as Keep Grundy Growing LLC and ask the elevator to contact us for sell instructions. We will issue you a charitable donation receipt.

Peg Davis is the inspiration for Keep Grundy Growing LLC. Peg left her 145-acre farm to charity to benefit the community of Seneca, Illinois.
In her estate she named a committee and her thoughts about how her Fund could be used. Now the committee meets regularly, has already given out grants, and is planning for the long-term use of the Fund that will benefit Seneca for generations to come.
