New “Peg Davis Civic Fund” for Seneca

Do you know that you can use farmland as the asset to start your donor-designed fund?? Margaret “Peg” Davis set aside 145 acres in her estate to set up a geographic field of interest fund to benefit the village of Seneca, Illinois. The Foundation owns the land (in Keep Grundy Growing, LLC) and our half of the net proceeds of the crop sales each year will be used for grantmaking in Seneca.

A committee named in Peg’s estate recommends the grants and tenant farmers work the land. Depending on the crop production, approximately $25,000 will be available for grantmaking….per year…forever. What a great legacy for Peg and even better opportunity for Seneca!
